Here's the fourth and final match of the day against SuperNinja128, known on YouTube as SuperNinja64. I presume that there've been at least 64 Super Ninjas on Xbox Live. Speaking of which, I must have one of the most idiosyncratic game lists in all of Xbox Live. Every other profile I've seen has at least a dozen games on them, whereas I have 3: Meteos Wars, Sonic Unleashed, and a third game whose time isn't right yet. For the first two, I've already achieved full Achievement Points bonuses. The third one will take some time. All other profiles I've seen have a lot of games with incomplete lists, and furthermore, most of the others seem to be working their way through many games at once whereas I try to focus on one at a time.

What do they do? Are they just renting a lot of games? Or do people seem to buy them, play them for a bit, and shelve them or sell them? I've heard some opinions before, but I'd like to know what some of these guys, and maybe some of you guys, actually do.

Anyway, the other planet IxDarkStormxii used several days ago was Darthvega. It sounds familiar, doesn't it? At 1,800 kilometers long, it's also about the same size as the Death Star. 9,000 inhabit this floating space fortress, where they travel around the cosmos looking to pick fights and take over worlds. Well, now Planet Meteo has chosen to pick a fight with it, and Darthvega has suddenly become the prey. So now the soldiers and military leaders within the base will have to fend off the Meteos as much as they can. The music here is great. It's grainy and cheesy, and it sounds like something out of, well, science fiction in the 1960s and 1970s. This goes for the jingles heard when you clear Meteos, as well as Darthvega's winning and losing themes. (Star Wars had premium quality music though, Darthvega's themes being more of the B-movie schlock.)

Darthvega is a pretty solid and fairly traditional planet except for one thing, which you won't ever notice in this video and probably would never notice until you start playing it yourself. But first, I'll explain the basics.

Darthvega takes 3 ignitions to launch its Meteos off the playing field. The horizontal ignitions are powerful, and tis vertical ignitions even more so. Its ignitions completely ignore the height and width of the clusters and even garbage blocks; they just plow through the garbage blocks like they were nothing. Darthvega's Meteos also come back down extremely slowly, allowing you all the time you need to find the best way to make more chains. This also goes for falling garbage blocks, which barely come down at all. Darthvega's gravity is also on the low side, initial ignitions often going up pretty far. Falling speed greatly increases with the Speeder turned on, however, so you can adjust when you want your falling clusters to hurry up. You shouldn't have much of a problem finding blocks to clear anyway, as four of the colors have equal percentages. The Planet Impact is Tempest.

And now for the crippling weakness: Darthvega has the least amount of time in the game between when a column fills up and when the game decides that you lose. Yes, even this is a variable between planets. For instance, Boggob gives you what I believe is a full 6 seconds for you to find Meteos to line up to get that column out of danger. Darthvega gives you 1 second. If too many columns fill up in Darthvega, you're done for, simple as that.

Together with the Planet Impact as Tempest, this means you need to be cold and calculating, like the Darthvegans. You can't afford to make any mistakes as you play, but as long as you continue to not make mistakes and not show any mercy, you'll do well. You must find the optimum Meteos to line up to keep your columns sufficiently low. Once your opponent's columns fill up enough, activate Tempest to attempt to trap them into a loss.

Of course, this means Darthvega is overpowered under lag, since you get more time to find stuff to match with. Defeat is still imminent if too many columns fill up though.

SuperNinja128 used Oleana. I used that planet all the way back in Mission Mode 1-1 and can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G95DByuTigQ

  • @Overhazard idk, it might be.but there is another place (don't remember where) that said that it would come out for $1.99 on the eShop.

  • @ylguehtthguackcirtap If it keeps getting removed, then it might be a hoax.

  • @Overhazard the wiki keeps erasing the page on it though. they might not have the information confirmed, and it will probably come out near the end of 2012.

  • @Dracodylian i know how you feel. i find it hard to believe that most of them were chosen out of popularity. like, how could they take out some of the coolest ones ever!?

  • @ylguehtthguackcirtap NOOOO! Not Globin, Limotube and Wiral!!!

  • @Overhazard Well with each drumbeat he does a step.

  • @Overhazard Don't know.
