Suspect arrested In Messy Mya Murder Arrested
New Orleans A suspect wanted by New Orleans police in connection with the shooting death of Anthony Barre, known as Messy Mya, was apprehended by Jefferson Parish sheriff deputies early Saturday, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato.

Friday, members of the New Orleans Police Department had issued an arrest warrant for 24-year-old Jason Hamilton wanted in connection with the murder of Barre, the comedian and YouTube video performer known as Messy Mya.

Hamilton was taken into custody without incident and booked into the JPCC as a fugitive from New Orleans, according to Fortunato.

Mya was killed last Sunday in the 2000 block of N. Rocheblave.

During the course of the investigation, Homicide Detective Kevin Burns positively identified Jason Hamilton as the person responsible for the murder and secured an arrest warrant for second-degree murder

Do I think he was killed for bookin'? No. I think he was killed for running his mouth too much. I think he started out with the intentions of bookin' but after awhile he talked alot of shit. When people say "Okay stop, that's enough", or you see their feelings being hurt, you stop. When he did his bookin', he could have atleast left the scene where as though whoever he booked wouldn't have bitter feelings towards him at the end of the day.

that's what happens when u live in cities like New Orleans. it's not a place I would visit. it's full of crime and poverty. He should've used his talents for positivity instead he's gone. Well he won't be the 1st and definitely won't be last in that terrible city
