Sometime around 62 or 63 my brother came home with a Rev Davis album. At the time I was trying to sound like Ramblin Jack. Sounding like the Reverend was barely possible and after a wHile I stopped trying and just listened. Still am.
I met Rev Davis in 1971 at the Kent State folk festival. It was at a guitar workshop. Me and several other guitar "hotshots" who didn't know who he was looked doubtful as Rolly Brown led him into the room. By the time 5 minutes had passed, all we could do was stare at him stupidly with our mouths open. He blew us all away.
Check out the swedish acoustic group Piedmont Project. They keep the East Coast blues alive over in Europe and have a great fingerpicker! Doc is their main inspiration!
Roy, you've always been one of my favorites! Hope you're still playing somewhere! In March '81 you autographed two albums for me. They're treasures now.
For over twenty years, Roy spent many a week at our "Arts" summer camp, Med-O-lark in Maine. He was always loved by all, and is one of the finest musicians and friends that we have ever known. Roy, Where are you? Please get in touch. Neal

How do I find this band and where are they based? I love old Roy, seen him many times in the US and UK, but I live in northern Sweden!
