This is a heavy dumbbell hammer curl workout that myself and Super Dave Ruel did while we were filming the DVD's for the brand new "Blast Your Biceps" training system. This is taken from Phase 2 of the program.

  • Hey Lee - big big big fan here - can you check out my hammer curls vid and let me know what you think of my training technique and try it yourself - it is a hammer curl with a difference - twist on the norm as it were - works lats, serr anterior, ant, medial and post delts as well as bis and tris mate - thanks for your input (much appreciated when you have had a go)

  • i know with hammers you can do more than if you were doing regular dumb bell curls. my question is hammer and regular curls target the same muscle or not? if not, what am i working out with hammer?

    Hammer curls work more forearms and brachialis compared to regular bicep curls.

  • I suggest not performing any swinging motion during the excersize, I can easily preform 6-12 reps of 50 lbs only moving my arms. a weakling can perform this similar manouvre since it uses everything EXCEPT arm muscles and will lead to permanant injuries. consult a fitness professional or learn proper form before attempting this sort of excersize
