While campaigning in Alabama, Mike Huckabee, stepped into the fray between the two leading GOP candidates for the Florida primary, by defending John McCain from allegations by Mitt Romney that he was" dishonest". Romney had used that term after McCain accused him of supporting a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq.
Huckabee agreed with McCain that Romney had supported a timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq. Huckabee said that Romney supported a plan authored by Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor (D) that called for a "secretly-held" timetable for withdrawal without a publicly disclosed date. - FoxNews Embeds

  • This is a bald-faced lie. It's bad enough for McCain to bring up this lie about Romney 3 days before the FL primary but to Huckabee to step in a support McCain's lie is shameful - add it to the pile of reasons Huckabee is unqualified to be our nominee in 2012 including the Christian Leader ads, the slam on Mormonism, eating fried squirrel in college and supporting in-state tuition for illegals. Nice guy, but a liar, not a leader.

  • @FreeAmericanMind Fried squirrel is yummy. Tastes like chicken.

  • Romney called for milestones, benchmarks, goals, etc. What is the alternative? Just an indefinite occupation with no program or mission objective to get our troops home?

Romney is for "milestones" and benchmarks because that is the correct position to have. You would be a terrible leader if you weren't setting goals and trying to complete them in a timely manner. This is different than publicly saying, "we are out by this date no matter what" which is what makes McCain dishonest on this point.

  • I have to admit - and I don't mean this sarcastically. I don't get why so many people like Romney. He seems to me the most fake plastic guy to ever run for office. He seems more fake than Edwards - and I didn't know that was possible. I just don't trust him. All his changing of views coinciding perfectly with where he is running is just too much for me. If he wins the primary it will be hard to pull that lever come November.

  • Huckabee did well in the debate by the way. I would prefer him over McCain. McCain is so one dimensional. All he does is talk about military and nothing else. There is more to being President of the United States.

  • I appreciate that Huckabee is your second choice! Thanks for saying that.

  • i am a fan of fiscal responsibility. if the congress wants to vote to fund the war in iraq then they should put it in the fucking budget. none of this 'emergency spending' bullshit. i am also a fan of small government. i don't believe the CFR-sponsored federal reserve should have the right to regulate the value of our currency with absolutely no accountability. i am a fan of non-intervention. if ron paul stands for these principles then i am a fan of ron paul.

  • i am going to take a wild leap that u are a ron paul fan.

  • if you want to vote for terror and tyranny, go right ahead.

  • It doesn't matter anymore. It's only McCain and Obama that matter now.

  • what have been the main issues for you this election season? is the federal reserve one of your concerns?

  • [cough ...cough... cough] It's all a conspiracy maaaan!

I've like totally done my research dude.

  • silliness. are you a CFR dog as well? huckabee is a CFR dog just like obama, clinton, and mccain. we had less than four candidates this season who actually did any of their own thinking. all the rest are CFR neoconservative pawns. RESEARCH WHAT I AM SAYING BEFORE YOU RESPOND TO ME OTHERWISE YOUR RESPONSE MEANS NOTHING. our media is lying to us

  • hey smpf38, mccain and romney are both members of the CFR. they're puppets for the CFR agenda. barack obama and hillary clinton were also members of the CFR. the media is lying to us about so much... no matter who you vote for this november, we are staying in iraq forever, and no matter who you vote for, we are going to bomb iran as well. it all started when saddam threatened to start selling oil in euros instead of US dollars. DO THE RESEARCH BEFORE YOU RESPOND TO ME, OTHERWISE IT MEANS NOTHING
