Brakes making very annoying sounds. Other seem to have had similar problems.

Someone suggested that the sound may come from the rotor resonating, and that the G2 rotors are at fault.

Possible fixes here: http://forums.mtbr.com/brake-time/juicy-brake-turkey-warble-vibration-mega-th...

  • The noise has gone away for now at least. I didn´t change any parts or clean the rotors with anything more than water. If the noises start again, i´ll try changing the pads.

  • you have avid g2 cleansweep rotor installed?

My juicy 3.5 makes noise, too, but not that bad.

Tomorrow I will have it repaired. maybe the rotor sucks, however g2s are awesome according to forums. maybe the pads suck.

Have cleaned the rotor and the pads with alcohol?

  • @Peti0308 Yes. The bike came with g2 rotors and they seem to be clean. Pads seem to be clean too. I think i´ll see if the sound goes away after some use. If not, then i guess i´ll have to either live with the sound or get new rotors and/or brakes.

  • its the orange wheel reflectors vibrating when you brake sounds like it to me

  • spring clip

  • change the pads and clean the rotors

  • kidding, right? i have same problem with my elixir, but avid better than shimano even with that shit.

  • you need to oil you're discs

  • i had the same problem , in time will disappear

  • You can get rid of this problem with Shimano brakes. For some reason Avid brakes make this stiff frame vibrate but when i have fitted Shimano brakes to these bikes the problem seems to be solved. Go to your Specialized dealer and let them know its happening and get some Shimano brakes on warranty.
