Kalaj was mother raised at the San Diego zoo. Now he lives at the EFBC-FCC. He likes boxes, and the leaves make a nice cushion for his old bones.

I love the ears of the caracal. I do have a question, is the name pronouce Car-a-kal or car-a-cal. I have heard it both ways.

Most Caracals have a large vocabulary. This one was mother raised, and is likely hissing because he was comfortable, and did not wish to be disturbed. So I turned the camera off and went away, hence the short video.
