I can't believe there has not been anymore interest in this affair than 397 views as of 7.2010..greed..lust..greed again....no lessons learned by our American cousins of 2008... faith in honest.. fair.... who will teach the "next" generation of banking youth?.... all these pupils deserve a "F" for the semester.......this Celtic tiger wind is blowing to the states..very soon!!!...no, it is here 2010...better start saving!!

One of many warnings we ignored. The economic crisis - which we're still living through - is surely founded on the same greed, contempt for other people, fantasy lives and deception that Nick Leeson used to bring down Barings - and the incompetence, ignorance and greed that Barings used to destroy itself. It has turned out that Leeson wasn't the only accountant cooking the books who thought he was a trader, and Barings not the only bank pretending to be great. Who will protect us from them all?
