@dudetextme He didn't. A BBC spokesman said that Chris: "was tired and didn't want to be typecast". The man said this because he was put on the spot by journalists, and the BBC later apologised for it. Chris recently explained why he left DW: something about the work conditions and attitudes of certain staff members didn't agree with him. He preferred to leave than to work in an environment he didn't enjoy, because it would impact the quality of his work. He loved being the Doctor.

Its kinda sad people won't let him not be doctor who. He was great but he chose to quit because he didn't feel right in the role.

I LOVED him as the Doctor... I mean David was brilliant, but Christopher had an attitude that really brought a lot into the character too. I don't think people give him enough credit for the role he played <3
