In this Chapter you will see how the arresting officer told the grand jury one thing about important evidence, and Cheri's trial jury the exact opposite. On 2-22-94, Judge Charles Rogers released Cheri on her Own Recognizance due to the arrest warrant containing Material Misstatements.
Cheri was out for nearly a year. The prosecutore went before various judges during that year trying to re-incarcerate her to no avail. Until 1-20-95. Being with Cheri that day, she wore a white dress. When she got to the top of the escalator, she stopped in her tracks and said. "Why do I feel so bad about today?" It was her last day of freedom.
She is still serving 26 to life at Chowchilla prison because of all the bad reasons laid out here in her story.
