Peter Andrews, who was featured several times on ABC TV's Australian Story, has developed a system called Natural Sequence Farming. This system is capable of restoring Australia's landscape to sustainable and profitable produtivity, while simultaneously allowing for the sequestration of vast amounts of carbon dioxide. This video shows a scale model of how the NSF system can quickly repair serious erosion problems, and prevent them recurring.

  • Big question indeed. This is in fact where Peter Andrews' expertise comes in - being able to read the landscape, and build these structures where they do the most good, for the least amount of investment. We have put several large (which Peter did) and several small (which I did myself) and they've all worked, but his worked better than mine.

  • Thank you for posting this, how would a typical farmer make decisions on the placement of the leaky weirs, big question hey?
