I have always wanted to learn the art of Time-Lapse photography so when I played Skyrim I decided to try my luck. I made a few tweaks to Skyrim FOV and timescale, plus downloaded FRAPS, MakeAVI to stitch together 720 photos.

I hope you enjoy. A few more to come.

  • omg, what song?

  • @dds12345res

Music is an Electronica mix called 'Earth Project 7'. Search for 'earth-project_28860.aspx' in google and click the link to audionetwork to find a heap of similar tracks.

  • may i ask how you turned off the hud? please reply, thankyou.

  • @Spazzosity I sound very nerdy to know all these silly shortcuts but here you go.

    Open console by hitting ~

Type 'tm' hit enter then ~ to remove hud

Type 'tfc' for free camera mode

Type 'set timescale to 1000' to change timescale.

    Pretty cool

  • What did you do with timescale in Skyrim itself?

  • @zzzuccero Gday there. I actually slowed down the timescale in Skyrim so1 hour (on earth) = exactly 24 hours in Skyrim. Made it easier to calculate basically. However, you can cheat a little in game and set the timescale to 1000x faster (or more) than a normal day.

Simply open the console in game ~ and type 'set timescale to 1000' Please note. this will only speed up the moon and the cycle... so the affect will not be the same as my vid.

  • You should make another one, but do that slow turning, over the whole town.

  • @ThePathular I suppose there's so much to look at, the sky is at the bottom of the list :P

  • @sprucemoose18 Perhaps I haven't spent enough time looking at the sky when it wasn't overcast; I'm sorry I wasn't informed D:

  • @ThePathular Eh? When there are no clouds, there is an entire blanket of stars hanging in the night sky. Along with the occasional Aurora Borealis effect, Skyrim's night sky is breath-taking.

  • Cool story bro.

  • @ThePathular Dude, you proabably never looked up ever night in all the places you have been in Skyrim to see it. I have already seen the sky, filled with little to no clouds at night, so its a full moon and a beautiful skyline of stars to marvel at

  • 5 people used to like cool videos, until they took an arrow to the knee.

  • Do this in Winterhold, 40 seconds of ULTRAFASTSNOW D:

  • Skyrim is a beutiful game... Can't get enough of it.

  • @hawkingflame

Actually the graphics in Skyrim are below the current standard. Admittedly, it's very detailed, but I play on Ultra settings and it's still pretty low-res. Textures are very blurry, models are ever-so-slightly blocky...

The game does look very nice from a distance, but it has a whole lot to go in terms of individual areas before it earns that title.

Also, the complete lack of stars in the night sky aggravates me in ways I can't explain.
