This video, about IDEX partner AFEDES in Guatemala, aired in 2009 on "A Fondo", a news program on Guatevisión.

AFEDES - Asociación Femenina para el Desarrollo de Sacatepéquez (Women's Association for the Development of Sacatepéquez) - is an indigenous women-led organization founded in 1993 by a group of Maya Cak'chiquel women seeking to improve their economic opportunities. Their core work entails rights-based training on women's rights and civic participation, as well as income-generating skills such as traditional weaving, sustainable agriculture to increase food security ,and awareness-building on violence against women.

IDEX is a San Francisco-based non-profit that promotes sustainable solutions to poverty by providing long term grants and access to resources to locally-led organizations in Asia, Africa and Latin America. For over 25 years, IDEX has been connecting donors to grassroots organizations around the world.

IDEX has been a proud supporter of AFEDES since 2004.
