FFXII LLDLBEBS - Tiamat

Thanks to petrifying Slavens in Mosphoron Highwaste, I was able to get 2 Fireflies to drop from the third Slaven (extreme luck there). I chained Dustia in order to gain HP augments for Ashe. They really helped for this battle.

I first reset Traveler at steps 164269. I then added 990 to this counter (the minimum amount of steps needed for a really high damage in 9000+) I then kept track of the step counter in the menu and did Traveler once the steps reached 165259 at the bottom of the menu.

Finally, I have all my characters. For this battle with Tiamat, I had to finish her off with my Armor/Technicks guy, Balthier. Traveler was not ready until the very end. You will notice I kept checking the menu and running around more with Balthier until I had the necessary steps for 9000+ damage. I should have done this earlier, but whatever...

Guns are banned from this challenge and using one for this battle would make things way too easy. Cypress Pole was used by my girl Ashe (Weapnons/Augments). Tiamat is weak against Earth and Cypress Pole has the earth element. Penelo was on standby to cure Disable and heal occasionally along with Balthier. The battle lasted 17+ minutes and I didn't run out of Hi potions by the time I had to use Traveler to finish Tiamat off.

I should have used Shear on Tiamat so that the Cypress Pole would deal more damage.

I don't understand something ^^' You says you petrified Slaven to drop a Firefly but I tried this now and when Slaven is petrified I level up xD

Is there a trick to petrify Slaven without level up oO?

When you petrify any monster and let the monster turn completely to stone (the number over the head of the monster is suppose to turn 0) you will not gain experience. You have to petrify it, and wait until it turns to stone. You can see the number above its head counting down to 0.

Wow, the start was really extreme! I tried damaging Tiamat with the Cypress Pole, but found Heavy Lance to be more effective (plus it can inflict Slow).

So, do you think berserking Tiamat is a good idea?

I guess with +1000HP Ashe, Bubble isn't really needed.

Oh right, I should have thought of heavy lance. Did it do more damage than Cypress Pole? As for Berserking Tiamat, I find that it's the best way to prevent those devastating area attacks like Breath, Aero, and Disabel which are extremely annoying.

geez maybe i should berserk him and stop him from disabling all me people haha i just use a bunch of quickenings but i cant get the right amount to kill him

this is be st done wen on mosphoran highwaste ner "wilder slaven" or something like that

chain wolfs to get MAX drop then once stoned run to the other side get on a chocobo (gashi greens need) then w8 till the slaven has turned 2 stone w8 till the xp and lp writing has gone then get off and check if u have Firefly (it took me 3 kills for my first firefly) after firefly u dont need 2 use chocobo's see as the xp is 0 u wont lvl aswell as u have it equiped and 1 person out.

After you petrified the Slaven you have to get on a chocobo to avoid gaining experience, that way you get LP but no EXP

I did what you explained but it still gives me some experiences. I don't know how it can be possible ^^' I have no explanation. Maybe it's a difference between the usa et european version ^^' Or a pal/ntcs version ^^' It's all suppositions however I'll be stuck XD

I think it was slightly more effective.

I know how useful Berserk can be, but when he attacks faster and stronger it's also quite a problem, even with Protect on.
