  • Sure is nice to see a quick, humane kill. Great shot!

p.s. what caliber and bullet,..and was it a lung hit or shoulder?

  • high shoulder shot. 300 wsm with a 180 grain nosler partition

  • @lanetaglio 300 wsm 180 grain nosler partition (used mainly for elk but great for deer as well)

  • Neat video. I have question for you. Do you think a 7MM Remington Magnum, when used with a quality bullet, is a good choice for mulies as long as the shooter can shoot it? I define shooting it as being able to consistently hit a paper plate at 300 yards when using either a good rest such as a pack or a set of shooting sticks?

  • That would be a great choice. The 7mm is flat shooting and has great knockdown power.

  • I ask because I have a handful of guides tell me that they have seen more game, elk and mule deer, "get away" from shots from a 7MM than any other caliber. Thank you for your reply.

  • I personally have seen more get away with the 30-06 and know a lot of guides that have as well. I think it is mainly due to the fact that so much cheap ammo is available for the 30-06 and that is what people are using. Get a quality bullet and you will be fine with any caliber. There really is a difference in a $25 and $60 box of shells.

  • @montanaoutwest 7.62x54r .....best old school round there is! I kill Montana Mulies with that.

  • @montanaoutwest hey not with me i have a Remington 30-06 and i use150 grain and the best ammo i can find i have 4 years hunting and six deers 5 in the spot and one i hit it 3 in back and low from the hart he runs but not more then 20 yards and goes down

  • I agree with Montanaoutwest! I use a 150 Grain Nosler Partition in my 22 year old Savage 30.06. Over the years of hunting, I've had two get away from me. I'm not sure why. Every other shot dropped the animal straight down. I have to admit, I use the cheap Ammo to keep in practice though.

  • Special delivery....very cool.. check out my Montana buck and elk i took this year...

  • @nmelkhunter1 Look into the 7mm RUM, My buddy has one and lots of big game have fallin to that bullet. Great fast flat shooting caliber with plenty of stopping power at long ranges. 7mm Is a common bullet for reloading to and there's plenty of info on the net regard what bullets you should load what what big game

  • Hello!!! Awesome video!!! I used to live in Missoula, and know all about the giant mulies up in unit 270, and have been applying for a permit for about 8 years now with no success. I've had permits for 250 a couple times, but just have a hard time finding anything big enough to hang a tag on. The highway is all that separates the two districts, but 250 just doesn't seem to produce. Why is that do you think? Or am I wrong, perhaps. Anyway, if I draw a permit for 270, I'll be in touch!

  • @pauly555111 STAY IN MONTANA..

  • Go back to california!
