OK I have a desktop that is 8 yrs old doesnt have all the hookups of the newer pcs. I want to transfer vhs to computer tried the firewire route. Had to get one off ebay.
So now maybe I can go the analog card route. What else will I need . How do I know if I have a sound card and where will it be if I need it. Remember this sucker is 8/9 yrs old.

I bought Pinnacle from Best Buy.. RCA plugs VCR to device to Computer. Windows Movie Maker save content. I plug computer Microphone in. Guitar AMP I plugged computer to AMP with Jack from guitar store into computer. Some plugs have JACK with RCA plug on other end to plug Home stereo system if your into HIGH POWER SOUNDS. My Best Buy computer microphone is back up audio thru Movie Maker to pick up AMP and only AMP. Close enough. Not too close. I should be GEEK SQUAD guy

cause you can buy your home movies at blockbusters cant you dickhead?
They should have a place where you take your VHS tapes and they make a DVD, like how they make pictures from disposable cameras.
