  • You are not the only one! Check out 2 sites: wemove.org & visit the myoclonus forum. Also on FB there is a group called Spinal Myoclonus made up of "Jerks" (like me) all sharing our daily lives of ups and downs with myoclonus. We talk about our doctor visits, medications, and sometimes just silliness to keep our spirits up. Do not give up searching for answers, and above all, realize that no matter what anyone says, IT IS NOT IN YOUR MIND! God bless you!

  • Damn, I do that. Sometimes just as the sleepy feeling takes over and it usually wakes me up again. Othertimes I am jarred, shocked--how it feels to me, awake by my body arching or a limb flying around.

  • @metaloceno sorry to hear of your troubles, I wish you the best. Though I find it truely fascinating the different types/reactions. My case is the opposite as I may have minor discomfort and some twisting of the limbs while sitting, when walking its complete hell, lol. In fact Im merely to stubborn to use a wheelchair, as I am walking on my ankles with a cane unsteadily. Seems in Southwest Ohio some doctors have not had experience and treat it as a joke. Truley not an impressive reaction to me.

  • :: typos:: walk up and DOWN the AISLE when on a plane... luckily not always.

  • Forgot to mention. These events happen when laying down. In the past two years even sitting down, so if I walk the feelings may go away. Flying has thus become hard when I do get these feelings and the plane takes long time to taxi. This is no joke! In the air I may need to walk up/sown the isle and tell flight attendant my RLS situation so they dont get nervous of me. Currently living in Baton Rouge. No cure, just increasing my med every year.

  • Cycle can go on for up to 4 hours, sometimes even after taking medication; typically last until my med kicks in (1 hr). I take 3 mg Requip for my RLS, but I even wonder if RLS is what I have. I dread the night since I do have one of the above 3 type of events [or combination] almost every night. May a cure be found soon for this and all the other humankind ailments. Peace and love to all of you.

  • Sorry you have to go through this. I have had RLS 12 yr. About 5 yr ago I started to have (1) tremors (a quick, powerful kick), (2) shaking (uncontrolled from 1 to 20 seconds) & sometimes (3) ‘nerve’ or ‘muscular’ pain (like a cramp). For two years this pain was mostly on one leg or the other. Then about 3 yr ago all the above feelings ‘migrated’ to my arms. Usually these can happen when I am getting tired. ‘Event’ repeats every 30 sec to 1 min; I can feel aura developing & another event happens

  • I had it every day and now i take rivotril 2mg each evening, that's the only thing that can helps me.

  • God what an idiot. If you have nothing to say that is intelligent, please go watch SpongeBob or something. There's nothing funny here idjut, and your "humor" is not appreciated. Geez!

  • @HciSteve I'm suspecting I have this PSM at sleep onset. Can you describe exactly what your symptoms are? Does it really resemble the above video or is it somewhat different. How did you get the diagnosis? There is limited information on this condition.
