Shur-I-kan returns with another sublime slice of deep, soulful house music entitled Future Fantasy EP. Hot on the heels of his well received remixes for Trackheadz on NRK and Akabu on Z records he returns to Freerange to deliver what we reckon are his strongest productions yet.
Kicking off with Fantasy, we're treated to a seriously soulful, string drenched workout that is so warm and fat it sounds a bit like melted butter dripping out of your speakers. It's been scoring maximum marks out of ten whenever Jimpster has been dropping it in his DJ sets and we feel we could have a bit of an underground anthem on our hands here.
Who better to get on the remix than our favourite deep house producers at the moment, Trackheadz. Their string of recent releases and remixes have been making us very happy so we're extra happy to have them work their magic on Fantasy, especially as the track was kind of inspired by them in the first place! They strip things back to the bone leaving us with the string loop, a bass line and a crisp, shuffling groove. What more do you want?
Finally, Future piles on the pounds for a slightly more pumping, peak time affair that will get even the most jaded old gits waving their hands in the air as if it was 1990. Absolute quality once again from Mr Szirtes who's productions are getting better by the second.
