David Gilmour built his repertoire solely on designs of his own blueprints. His success arrived completely by way of his own hard work and merit vs. riding in on the coattails of other guitarists.

David is one of few guitarists, including among other guitar legends, that has relied solely on his own proficiency -- tailoring various techniques to fit his unique style, versus emulating or lifting from others.

The standards of integrity that David has exemplified ... taking the high road to success instead of the easy way, has earned him the deepest respect of fans and peers alike.

  • I was going to question the date of this, but chose not to. I first saw them at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in October 1970. 3 bucks to sit in the orchestra pit, right in front of Roger. Caught them at the Central Theatre in Pasaic NJ right around the release of "Echoes" I was first in line and laid a Benjamin for 16 seats at 6 USd. Sold the tickets to friends at face value. Great show, but they did not do any material from DSOTM. What a trip.

"I was going to question the date of this, but chose not to."

    *laughing*

Was that an age-related, "I'd rather no go there" remark (~‿~) or were you questioning the date of the title cut?

If you were referring to the latter {though something tells me you actually meant the former}, it is straight off OBC; taken from my own CD-to-mp3 collection.

Ahhh, you're funny ... thanks for the chuckles, and for viewing!

  • I can't believe I haven't commented on this video yet! :O anyway... just how sexy can one man be!?! I've yet to see a more beautiful man than him!! *siiighhh*

  • @elinmagg

Yeah, I know -- David's got a great face. More than several times while going through images or videos, I've exclaimed something aloud ... usually it's the "F" word preceded by "Oh" or "Holy"

I always say about that era, that there must have been something in the water!

  • this exquisite ... stunningly beautiful .. unparalleled genius of a man ..... leaves me mesmerized !

  • @dyedinsoul

*siiiigggghhhh* Hmm, I know ... ditto!

  • @1skunkus

    that's unfortunate.

  • @MyJd1977 His voice is like an Angel he plays like a God! What more could anyone ask for, except another one just like him.

  • OMG! This man has got to be the sexiest man alive. I am infatuated with 1970's Gilmour. God I pray that you make more just like him, and just as beautiful!!

  • actually one of the very many great things from England - greatest country that has given so much to the world

  • Wow you really like David Gilmour.

  • Best thing from England: a genius called David Gilmour. From Italy with love.

  • I didn't realize how special it was, that I got to see Pink Floyd perform in 1971, before Dark Side came out, until sooooo many years later!! I always thought they were so different than what other bands were playing, that there was nothing to compare them to, just enjoy the ride!!! Many trips and years later, the music still hold me in thrall!!!

  • I always thought he looked like leonard di caprio.
