How to Repair your wash machine when it stops mid cycle, full of water, and completly dies. It just may be the Lid Switch, which is EASY to repair, and may not cost you anything. Hope this helps someone who goes through the same thing I did.

  • Angela, you are definitely an inspiration!! I bet if you really tried you'd figure out a way to get hubby to help with dishes!! Lol

  • @jcrefasi1 Thank you!

  • @gardenofimagination OMG is there any thing you can't do???? How did you diagnose the switch to be yr problem?? My washer agitates but won't drain or spin. I got a quote of $85 just to come out and diagnose the problem. Then add parts and labor on top of that!!!

  • @jcrefasi1 I think I read about the symptoms online and went from there. It's been two years and my washer is still going strong... without a repairman! And trust me... there are TONS of things I can't do. Like get my husband to help wash dishes.

  • Angela, I had the same problem and your video solved it for me. On mine the switch had come loose when the plastic cracked where the metal screws inserted. You showed me where the switch was and after that it was pretty easy to get a rubber band to hold it shut and let the cycle finish. Now I just need to figure out how to reattach it properly.

Your video was clear and avoided jargon so everything was easy to understand.

Your husband is a lucky man. Show him this if he doesn't believe you.

  • @SFDaruma Thank you. So glad it helped you!

  • "Hi Sweet! shhhhhhh!" kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk LOL

  • After the first cycle it didn't work again so I guess the arm doesn't click properly and tight into the mechanism so I unscrewed the hinge from the lid...pushed the arm into place without taking the washer apart because I can reach it inside (I love that part) and I guess I am overriding the safety aspect but I think we are smart enough to not jump into the machine during a cycle LOL

  • I saw this post and have to tell you it is even easier with my newer washer. Under the frame holds a simple mechanism on the left hand side- a bar swings from the lid and it was not aligned. I clicked it back in place, put the frame and console back on and am now listening to the wonderful sound of the water swooshing out! Tell my why the repair man didn’t listen to us when we told him that concaving the lid sometimes fixed the problem? no parts needed. no time wasted.

  • @LANKYNIBS9000 Well, let me consider it.
