Duxbury teens dies of injuries

Steven Laramee, a senior at Duxbury High School, died late Saturday night from injuries suffered in a car accident on Friday morning.
Steven's brother Eion, a sophomore, and Steven's friend Spencer Meine, al so a senior, were both riding in the car. Eion was in good condition at Boston Medical Center on Sunday.
Meine was upgraded from critical to fair condition at Massachusetts Gener al Hospital over the weekend. The accident happened near the intersection of Franklin Street and Union Bridge Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. Friday.
"It startled me," said Claire McLaughlin, whose driveway is about 10 feet from the crash. "I heard the impact and screeching from upstairs." McLaughlin said the car was coming down Union Bridge Road when it hit a small tree, knocking it into the road, and then wrapped around another, larger tree near the entrance to a walking trail. Richard McLaughlin went outside and tried to open the car's doors, but couldn't, according to his wife, Claire. Inside, two boys were awake and another was unconscious. Claire said she then called 911.
The road was shut down for more than an hour, as emergency personnel tried to extricate one of the car's passengers. Tire marks stretched 200 feet up the road.
The McLaughlins said Union Bridge is a windy road that drivers often cut through, sometimes at high speeds. The family has the only house on the roughly half-mile streets, which abuts conservation land.
Police Chief Mark DeLuca said the cause of the accident was not immediately known.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I know what it feels like to loose a fellow student due to a car crash. My junior year there were 3 students get into a serious car crash on the way to school, it was a lot like this crash.

There are SO MANY videos on youtube about teens who died while driving, and speed/alcohol/texting/racing/d­rugs usually seem to be involved. Is this teenage generation THAT STUPID, or do they just not want to live? 200 foot skidmarks tells me they were driving WAY TOO FAST.
