I would love someone to translate this for me...I can do most of the French but not the Flemish, and I'd like to see the whole song translated at one time. Jacques Brel was amazing, and this song is one of my faves, but the words from the show Jacques Brel is alive and well are not a translation of his words, so I'd like to know the song as he intended it.

@mdryeti Flemish and Dutch are the same language. With Flemish, one means the Dutch spoken in Belgium. It's a bit like Québécois and French or Australian and English. Since Brel is Belgian you could say it's Flemish but the correct name would be Dutch. I know it is confusing and even in Belgium people constantly mix 'Flemish' and 'Dutch'.

@geertjef Thanks so much :)
I have another question : Is that Flemish, or Dutch?

@clairemariechristine Slightly drunk at 4 in the morning in Ireland. I'm just remembering the quote: "A language is a dialect with an army and a navy." Pourtant j'adore Brel (maar ik hou van Brel)
