  • I heard this song yesterday on my local college jazz station after not hearing this in decades! I didn't even know it was a Donny Hathaway song until the DJ announced it at the end. I would have been 12 or 13 years old when this song came out -- it's been at least 30-35 years since I last heard this. Wow! Where has the time gone? I'm glad someone had the good sense to post this classic gem here on YT. Thanks so much!

  • Happy Birthday Donny! What would you be like at 65? Wow! The infinite possibilities!

  • SO much Love !

  • @stonejones1955 So true, that's why we struggle listening to some of the sounds of today, we're listening for the musicians.

  • peace to your memory and music that still enriches our lives.

  • Peace to your memory...you'll be always in our hearts, so long as melodies and lyrics are clear as glass. DONNY..my man

  • Donny's just so great...

  • ive been looking for this for about a year lol madlib is a bad kid.

  • I've only ever heard the George Benson version played on the guitar. Love this version too, electric/synth piano sound is just such a cool jazz musical piece of equipment. What a player, what a tune. Thanks for posting

  • This makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, such soul and charisma about this guy, a musical genius.

  • Donny Hathaway...so much SOULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • I think folks are always suprised at how talented some of these artists are from the 60's and 70's. Many started off as musicians and then began to sing. A perfect example is someone like Donny Hathaway..and he is only the tip of the iceberg....I think Marvin Gaye was a drummer before he took hold of the mike....
