@SusanRichardsDay Mary interceded during the wedding at Cana (John 2:1-11) and despite Jesus saying that it "His hour had not come", still listened to His mother (honor thy father and mother) as a good Jewish boy should.

Why then wouldn't He continue to listen to His mother. Jesus gave us His mother to be our mother as well [“Woman, behold your son” and to John he said, “This is your mother”(John 19:26-27)] so now that she's our mother as well, she would obviously be looking out for us.
