The Kidd and Whitworth families have been made ill by an electrical transformer substation that was built too close to their homes. They are asking TransAlta, the company that owns and built the substation to do the right thing and compensate them for their pain and suffering.

  • Has there been any response from TransAlta or government since you posted this video?

  • Amazing!

This is the same effect you get when you place a flourescent light bulb in the microwave.

    TRY IT!!!

Go get one of those bulbs that are in the shape of a ring. break off the copper terminals, and put it in the MW for few seconds.

Mr.Wizard used to do it back in the 80's.

Finally, the night vision did not cause the bulb to light up, it showed the light being emitted from the bulb. Think about how night vision works. It picks up faint light that is not ordinarily visible. If you want to test these things out, try going into a dark room with a similar light bulb. See if it lights up by itself (it won't). See if it lights up when you look at it with night vision (it won't). It requires enough current in the air to harm a person to get the effect.

Second, she is not being electrocuted because, as I said in the previous comment, the levels of electricity in the air are not strong enough. However, think about what it is like to be electrocuted, to have electricity flowing through your body. Now think about dealing with that at low levels every hour of every day for four years and you will begin to realize what these poor people are living with.

  • @Rock09i

As impressed as I am by your obvious electrical expertise, I feel obligated to correct you on a few (all) points.

-The levels of electricity are not enough to light the bulb to the point where it would be visible without the night vision. What the video shows is that the "background" electricity is enough to cause a bulb to glow faintly, which is far more than you would be able to find anywhere that is not next to an electrical transformer.

  • why did she have to switch it to night vision when the normal mode would have showed up just fine??

This video is a fraud, she would have been electricuted if it was a legitimate test.

The night vision mode made the lightbulb appear to light up..nice try.
