CIAs chief in Latin America from 1981 to 1984 (Duane Clarridge) makes light of the deaths in Chile under Pinochet and says it was worth it.

  • @PABLODIABLO28 : Unlike you I have read many books and fought Communism on the ground. It appears to me as if you gather all of your ideas from the preconceived ideas and leanings of a university professor. Therefore, calling someone else ignorant shows your own ignorance. Do you believe that your life would be better under a Socialist Government? Look no further than Zimbabwe for an answer to that question.

  • @MrReco12 Hitler and Pinochet are two different people Hitler was Anti American and Anti British Pinochet was opositve Pro American and Pro British Hitler was more keen to state control altough he alow free market Pinochet was compelete for freek market in style of US Pinochet wasnt anti semitic etc etc dont compare tyrants just because they are tyratns Stalin was worse than hitler and he was communist and had nothing to do with Hitler in fact he was far smarter

  • donde este mi general pinochet siempre sera recordado que fue el que derroto al comunismo internacional ala cubana en chile somos diferentes,

  • @MrReco12 you really must do your research before you comment. The communist was Allende!! He worked side by side with the Castro and was begging the Russians for money after leaving the country broke with his spending Decent man he was not. Castro personally provided security for him. My family lived in Chile through it all and this video is one sided. I don't defend all that the military did but I am guessing none of you people commenting know your facts or lived it to make such comments.

  • death to gringos

  • The CIA guy is one of the most fucked up people I have ever heard speak. So the national interest of the united states is more important than millions of lives? Damn, no wonder the rest of the world is looking like a shithole, the US took a dump in every corner it saw fit.

  • So what if the CIA helped Chile?? so what??

    it was Worth it

  • Some of your comments are truly upseting. It surprises me how easy it comes to you to speak about things you don`t get.

You don`t know the amount of pain innocent people had to bare, you`ve probably never lived under such conditions, and, of course, history can be controlled by those who have money and they were who got benefits from the horror .

Sure as hell I don't like communism, but this is about freedom of will, something USA suppossedly fights for.

  • So..Mr. CIA, your interview just triggered a very inspirational thought in my mind. I'm not American, but having in mind the "national security interests" of the USA, I believe the people of your county might, at some point, want to eliminate the biggest threats in your country- which,of course, includes yourself(duh!)! In the process, many of your friends and "colleagues" might get brutally killed/ sliced/ raped/ electroshocked etc, but I can assure you:

IT'S GOING TO BE WORTH IT!!!! TRUST ME!

  • Watch "Waking the Dead" with Jennifer Connelly...the dinner scene with the Chileans. "Fielding" puts them in their place alright!
