Any idea how old the tree was?

@beeroosterm Not that old, as they grow fast. I would think they were all planted when the chateau was built, circa 1875.

It is sad, but I understand as anyone else should the danger of a tree that size dead and ready to fall by the hand of nature. By the way, how long did it take to clean that up?

@corndogcj True, we waited over 2 years for any signs of life, but there were none. Took over six weeks of on/off sawing and splitting to clear it - filled a huge hangar with logs. I made a huge bench from the last part (got the 90cm Stihl 660 in the end!).
