we got really lucky with the ingestion of sand as there was no blockages ect...
the suction mount is what was used in this video and it leaves no marks behind when removed and just does not budge when fitted correctly.
As far as going over the bars is concerned out of pure fluke I had just sat down before we ran aground so was really lucky there.

The camera used was the gopro hero hd (1080) running in 720p mode at 30 frames per second.
Fitted to the ski using gopro's own motorsport's suction mount.
The footage was edited with iMovie and final cut pro.

the menai straits is located just off the west coast of the uk, it seperates the mainland from anglesey which is a small island off our west coast.

thanks for the comments, it's a really beautiful place on the right day.
As can be seen from the video it's also easy to come unstuck.
Iv'e done the straits for years but the sandbanks can change from season to season so even if you cruise safely one year you can run aground the next.
