Someone needs to defend poor Nelson and Bob from being part of Carla Bruni's own little Chanel ad

couldn't have said it better myself.

funny, this slavish attention to Carla is because she is rich, statuesque and well dressed yet the clowns on this site want to perpetuate the marketing of her as this doe eyed princess all charm and grace. Charm and grace did not end apartheid, and Carla and her family were off collecting Art or fucking around in Bohemia la la land when Mandela was organizing and sacrificing.

Reminder : N. MANDELA has the right to choose or refuse guests for his birthday .
Carla was invited as an Artist and should be accepted and respected as such .

En attendant , elle peut venir chanter au mien chaque annee a venir , promis , jure , nous ne laisseront pas une miette de gateau aux envieux ou aigris qui la critiquent.

What a silly observation. A) Mandela most likely wasn't presented with a guest list prior to the festivities. B) He is, historically, one of the most gracious men I have ever had the honor to listen speak, and would not stoop to disinviting what is, in the end, a rather fatuous ceremony. C) How self-destructively impolitic it would have been, how uselessly sensationalizing it would have been for Mandela to have asked to cross Carla the declasse gucci wearing debutante off the stage.

Conseil a Carla Bruni :

Dans votre prochaine vie , renaissez laide , bete et pauvre .
Vous aurez alors le suivi des affreux , envieux et aigris .
En attendant , les chiens aboient , la caravane passe...

Actually, judging people who thrust their overhyped countenance into the public forum is a right and privilege -- if not a necessity -- of any vibrant democracy. I notice you could not argue on the merits. Bruni is only on that stage because she is the daughter of extreme privilige. She has never gotten her hands dirty and has led the safest, most self-interested and self indulgent of lives. She is a narcissist , Mandela was a revolutionary. A shame she coopted a great Dylan tune.

Judging people by the public behaviour and I highly public and publicized lives is EXACTLY what everyone on this site is doing, you weirdo. It is "rude" and "childish" for her to promote herself onto a stage in honor of a man whose values she did not give one twat about when she was an "apolitical" Chanel girl fucking around in bohemiaville.
