I really liked Bridget but it's difficult to feel sorry for her when she knowingly entered into a relationship with a man that she was fully aware was still in love with her mother. It smacks of self destructive tendencies to me. Bridget was such a martyr during this period that sometimes you just wanted to yell at her to get off the cross already.
