WARNING: NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN! Shooting this undercover video as a volunteer for Farm Sanctuary was an experience that made Jenny Brown decide to quit her career in film and television and work to help farm animals instead. The video was used in a Congressional hearing about "downers" -- animals too sick or injured to walk into an auction or slaughterhouse, who are typically abandoned and left to die. Jenny went on to work for Farm Sanctuary for about a year, and then co-founded the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Some of this footage was used in the film PEACEABLE KINGDOM. Important things to notice are: overheated and overcrowded animals, a sheep with untreated prolapse, a sheep with a lame leg, dead animals in the same pens as live ones, a very pregnant goat being chased, lame and weak veal calves, a cow with bad lacerations and a diseased eye...

  • fucking bastards

  • so sick and sad/I,m just wondering if sum one rescued the little calf .how could any one push a calf in that state into a sale ring in that state(SHAME ON YOU),it would make me cry if id seen that in person.Yer don,t see it in the uk .

  • i am from san antonio and they really dont give them water because they are going to be sold and slaughterd

  • @ihatebabycows hey and do the world a favor and ear one of those.razor tomatoes while your at it...n hey dont forget to record it while you do:)

  • One thing my family and you have in common is that we won't stand for animal cruelity. Some guy abuses thier animal, I would intervene. But this is not cruelity. Ask a animal expert like your local vet what cruelity is. Yes, even the vet that goes to dairy to those dairy's. They are advocates for animals and they know that it isn't cruelity.

  • I do come from a family that loves animals. My dad is a large animal vet and my mom works at a local zoo. I know the animal industry a little bit more than you and it's not cruelity. You are giving a bais view that give farmers and dairymen a bad name. I know a lot of dairymen and they are the kindest people I have met and they want the best for their animals. You say that what they are doing is unjustice. What unjustice are you giving them? Quite a lot actually and I don't respect that.

  • Do you know how animals go to a stockyard? The owners sell the sick cows to the stockyard to be slaughtered. It is truthfully not the stockyards fault that they are in those condition. But you still try to sell the idea that stockyards are bad when they are actually not doing anything bad. Hell, think of the stockyards as a hospice like situation. They are gonna die anyway. They are trying to be humane by slaughtering them in a minimally painfull way. It's not inhumane.

  • @jennybrownwfas What I am saying is that there is two sides of the story and you have to emphasize on one. It is not cruel to shot a cow in the head with a shotgun when the animal is in pain. It is more humane than you think. If they got to the slaughter house and the animial is getting shot in the leg or some nonvital organs and leaving them to rot, yes that is cruelity but these guys arent doing that are they. and It's funny how you shot the "We are not responisble for crippled animals".
