This is a video of, some of, our Halloween decorations. All the decorations were designed and built by me and my daughters, except the flying crank ghost (plans available at www.phantasmechanics.com), the cat idea I saw on hauntedmansion-northside (you'll have to google it), and the giant hanging skeleton at the beginning (Walgreens). The video was shot the day after Halloween. We usually have fog machines going, etc. Hope you enjoy.

  • Wow, i would be very interested how you made the poles that say Haunted Mansion on them. or where you got them, i'm trying to make them myself but wondering if theirs an easier way.

  • @wowforlifelol I debated quite a while as to how to make the posts. I wish I could tell you they were easy to make, but they weren't. Actually, it was more time consuming than anything. They are made out of 3/4" plywood. I used a router to make the mortar lines. It just took a lot of time to make sure that everything was laid out properly, but it was worth it. Many people think they are made out of real bricks or veneer bricks used for faux fireplaces. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Holly crap like how did you get the skelletons to talk at the same time as the tape???????????????????? It would be cool if the trick or treaters could come in the house unless they did???????????

  • The skeletons are computer controlled. I've programmed the skeletons to move in sync with wav files. I can play any routine at any time (I have a keyboard and monitor inside the front door). As for the trick-or-treaters they can come inside an huddle around the piano player (it's totally self contained, so it looks real from any angle). We're going to slowly expand the inside over the next few years. Thanks for the nice compliments.

  • @gqblues thanks for your help anyway :-) least i know of what type of wood to look for =)

  • very nice! i love how your house actually looks very similar to Phantom Manor aka the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland Paris.I especially love the piano scene! very convincing :D

  • Absolutely amazing! I've also seen videos where people have rigged up Madame Leota's dialogue to sync with a similar looking Halloween prop of a witch's head inside of a crystal ball. I have the same prop myself, but I'm always in awe to see any such prop rigged up to other dialogue, especially from the Haunted Mansion. Another video I've seen recently is of a headless bride singing "I Feel Pretty" looking into a mirror with a chorus of severed heads all around it as the backup singers.

  • and the candelabra at 1:19 if it didn't have the skull would look exactly like the one in the endless hallway
