@Doc9819 Play on the neck pickup and roll back the tone knob at least to 5, or all the way. I have a LP and it is so versatile; blues, jazz, rock and roll... Learn to use the knobs! Cheers!

@Doc9819 To some extent it has a big effect on the sound, but you can get a warm sound like this with other. There are a lot of variables. Notice he is picking closer to the fret board, that is one thing that gives it a warm sound. Also your amp matters a lot. The guitar's effect is that it is a hollow (or semi hollow) body guitar, so it resonates ever more. What also matters is how he miced the amp. You can't fully base sound of what you hear post micing.

Does an electric guitar have to be of a similar model in order to produce a sound like this?
Mine doesn't look like his and I really like the way it sounds. Help?
