  • up in alaska, we call those kinks in lines "assholes". Especially when dealing with a shot of crab-pot line.....or is that just the term for the person who CAUSED the kink in the first place...ME !!

    In that regard: what I am REALLY interested in is how to deck coil and stow LARGE 3/4" OR 1" nylon 3-strand so that it does not come up in a bunch of horrible kinks when time to use. Too big a shot of line to hand-coil...must deck-coil instead...but never good! Please help !!!!

    One weensy hair-splitter: I believe the term for a kink is a hockle, not knuckle... but if we follow your good example we shouldn't need the word at all!
