FFVII - The Curse Within

Intro: All right, upon this release I'll tell you that I've finished this video exactly one year earlier. This video has been made for a contest held within Epical Studios, the Hollows Eve Theme. The reason why I didn't upload it to Youtube by that time was that it was still an incomplete project and I had plans to finish it. Sadly, I encountered technical errors due to corrupted scenes and videos and had to start over again. Eventually, I lost my motivation and dropped it to pick it up later when time comes.

Story: This video has an alternate story, based upon my idea, from FFVII: AC. This video begins with overviews of random places. Cloud wakes up, with vague memories of what happened earlier. Reno and Rude has found him in the wasteland and brought him back to his home, warning him of strange phenomenas happening around him. As the memories becomes clear, Cloud leaves the house and takes his bike.
He remembers he has been ambushed by Kadaj and his companions and tried to escape. However, phantom illusions interferes with his escape and he gets injured. As the assaulters pulled back, the illusions appear again and attack Cloud's mind until he passes away.
Now, Cloud has arrived to face Kadaj again in order to bring things back to order again. During the fight, Cloud sees a familiar arch-nemesis inside Kadaj, none other than Sephiroth. Realizing what Cloud has exposed, Sephiroth takes his form by Kadaj and takes control of the battlefield. Their fateful battle begins...

In my words, this video is more of a teaser to the full story that I've yet to work on. Throughout the second half of the video, is just the result of my improvisations. Of course, there are also those effects that back up the story of the video, which is indicated in the description. Did I mention "phenomenas" and "phantom illusions" there...? That's what those black and white effects represent.

As I said, I'll take your criticism into consideration. In exchange, I just wanted to point out a few things my video stand for.

I also admit that some effects were made for entertainment purposes but then again, how many FFVII music videos does it take for a viewer to realize he/she's seen it all before? Since I was determined to make my video unique somehow, I used the effects to add some intrigue and tension for the viewers to enjoy (though I admit that I can't please everyone) and for the fellow editors to learn from. They're not there because they have to, but they somehow spell "originality" to me.

Thanks for your reply, Joe. Though your criticism is respected and taken into consideration, I will state some arguments to help you understand a bit about the way the video was made.

Though I might have missed some accurate timings by a some milli-seconds, I'll have to add that Youtube ain't quite the most reliable source for viewers to evaluate the videos technically.

your color textures, pans, flow, effects in general. you had a sloppy timing sequence matching more than one beat the same way as you would match a different beat ( with that wierd black and white thing ) the noises were fine but most of them were accomponied by a texture on the side that is unessecary. please excuse my spelling for i dont honestly care how i spell via utube
