  • If XWF had managed to get a TV contract I dont think there'd be a TNA still around today - it had a lot of potential!

  • it would have been good if the xwf had stll been around

  • @MattitudeMember How can you miss a company that only held 2 television tapings and never was seen by anybody? As my dad said about Bonanza: the Lost Episodes, which applies to XWF: The Lost Episodes, "there is a reason why they were lost." I bought the XWF 3 disc set cheap (why they needed 3 discs for 3 episodes less than 1 hour each I do not know) and it is just fun to watch and rip on Mystery Science Theater 3000 style. A bunch of roid monsters and the epic (FAIL) Piper / Sable feud.

  • @WWEtitantr0nz Yes, this was WCW 2 before TNA started and became WCW 2. I hate calling TNA or XWF WCW 2 because neither had near the success WCW did even when WCW was dying, but both TNA and XWF are run exactly like WCW by the same morons that killed WCW. Hogan and his stooges (Hart, Knobbs, and Valentine) found a rich oil guy $ mark and got him to pay them and all the other WCW wash outs McMahon would not hire to make the XWF. The $ mark got smart and that was the end of XWF after a month.

  • @Yoni123 TNA survives because their $ mark (Dumb Dixie Carter) is stupider than the moron $ mark who funded the XWF. The $ mark who funded the XWF crap figured out after 2 sets of tapings that Hogan and his stooges (Hart, Knobbs, and Valentine) were ripping him off, so he wisely closed XWF down. 10 years and the moron Carter family have not figured out they are being ripped off by Jarrett, Russo, Hogan, Bishoff, et cetera. TNA is a bigger EPIC FAIL than XWF was as Hogan = FAIL.

  • @Sh0ckmaster I do not miss Fat Tony Shillvone. I never need to hear him scream again "this is the greatest night in the history of our sport." Shillvone is pretty much universally reviled in the wrestling business. I heard an interview with Fat Tony once where he said he never wanted to be in wrestling. He just got in it because he was working for the Crockett's minor league baseball team and they made him do their wrestling as well. Now, he does baseball on the radio and enjoys that.

  • @MrDman21 Sable tried to jump to WCW and filed a frivolous sexual harassment law suit against McMahon to try to get out of her WWF contract. Sable was laughed out of court and spent the next several years making meaningless personal appearances at minor league hockey and baseball games. Her WWF contract expired in 2001, so she worked these crap XWF tapings. In 2003, she banged McMahon, so he forgave her and gave her a 1 year pity run before she and Lesnar left the WWF together for good.

  • @kinkabala Curt Hennig's career was ruined by back injuries which started in 1991 and addiction / abuse of drugs, not Hulk Hogan. Hennig doing 1 meaningless job on a worthless television taping that never aired any place hardly hurt his career. Actually, WWF heard Hennig carried Hulk to an okay match here and signed Hennig shortly after that for his last WWF run starting at Royal Rumble 2002. Hennig was still messed up on drugs and was fired shortly after that before dying of a drug overdose.

  • @xraycat30 2001 was when this short lived XWF abortion took place.
