IMO the T34 was the best tank of the war. It was crude, and inferior to the Tiger and Panther in terms of its gun and armor. But I think it was best because (1) ease of manufacture; Tiger/Panther were very complex (2) ease of maintenance (3) maneuverability, particularly during Russia's swampy spring and intense winters (4) reliability; the complexity of the Tiger/Panther led to significant breakdowns, much more that the crude and simple T34.
""Fact, the T34/85 is FAR superior then the Sherman.""
Actually during the Korean War both tanks met...and the Sherman mostly got the better of the T34/85. This was the late version 'jumbo' Sherman with heavy armour, long 76mm gun and HVVS suspension.
The two tanks were roughly equal but both were inferior to Tigers and Panthers.
T34s built during WW2 were actually crude, poorly made with inferior parts and quality and were dispatched in their tens of thousands by German tanks and PAKs. Good thing there were 60,000 of them because 25,000 would have achieved nothing.
Post war T34s were far superior to WW2 T34s. Don't confuse the two. T34s won through sheer numbers, not through any superior quality.
Too often people look at post war T34s and think they were that quality during WW2. They WERE not.
In the early stages of the war, I'd agree with you, the T-34 could easily deal with the thin armour of the Panzer II or III and the early German guns couldn't knock out the T-34. But as the Germans studied the T-34's preformance, they countered it with the Tiger I and later the Panther, which the Soviets immediately stopped the production of the KV-series of heavy tanks and started producing the superior IS heavy tank and the T-34/85 in response.
