Brothers Of End is Lars-Olof Johansson Ståle, Bengt Lagerberg (both from The Cardigans) and Mattias Areskog. This is the band in which each member wants to - and is damn well capable of - playing every instrument. So is it a side project or a Swedish super team?
Neither.
Brothers of End is a trio making its debut, a hitherto blank sheet about to start writing its own history right here and now. The album The End is only the finishing line on their start-up stretch.
LARS-OLOF JOHANSSON STÅLE sings and in Brothers of End he fronts the guitar and piano.
He is forever fascinated by Roy Orbison more than most: To look so much like my granny and yet sing with that voice has always impressed me.
Lars-Olof is the man on the keyboard and guitars in The Cardigans, and he also performs with Up the Mountain and Cilihili.
BENGT LAGERBERG sings and in Brothers of End he fronts the drums.
While in grade school he got his first massive percussional out-of-body experience from hearing Twilight by Electric Light Orchestra.
He has sat in with loads of artists, among them Leona Naess and Angela McCluskey. Bengt keeps the drum sticks in order in The Cardigans, and he also performs with Up the Mountain.
MATTIAS ARESKOG sings and in Brothers of End he fronts the bass, guitar and piano. His sources of inspiration are Harry Nilsson, Frank Sinatra and Haruki Murakami.
Daytime he is a journalist focusing on the environment. His merits from the Swedish music scene make for an endless list.
Apart from his own project Consequences, some of the acts he has played with are Anna Ternheim, Frida Hyvönen, Friska viljor and Peter Morén.
