Originally, Mike Hammer was a comic book character names Mike Danger but a secretary suggested that he put it in novel form. Thus was born Mike Hammer. The series captured the sounds and flavors of New York City. Just like Naked City did for the New York Police Department, this series captured the life of the private detective. In my opinion, the best Mike Hammer was Mickey Spillane in the move, The Girl Hunters. He lived up to his part.
