One person is dead and another suffered minor injuries in a crash April 28 that has closed Interstate 90 eastbound and restricted westbound traffic to one lane. Eastbound traffic is expected to be blocked by debris from the fiery crash for several hours and is being diverted at Exit 27, State Street/Perry Highway, state police at Lawrence Park said. Westbound lanes should be cleared more quickly. The three-vehicle accident occurred one mile east of Exit 29, Route 8, shortly after 7 a.m. April 28.
Police said a motorist driving erratically in the westbound lanes collided with another westbound car, then crossed the median and struck the eastbound truck in the side of its trailer. The driver of the car that struck the truck was killed in the crash, police said. To view more from the Erie Times-news visit GoErie.com
