  • Holy moly, Terry, you're a jet with that shift! It really makes a difference. Does it double the efficiency of your pedaling (1 entire pedal revolution for 2 wheel revolutions) or what?

  • @Gunner193 In hi gear, the wheel rotates 50% more per pedal revolution. That also translates to a 50% increase in speed. In direct 1:1, moving at 8mph, becomes 12mph in high gear, for the same amount of rpms. For this video, I was riding closer to 15mph in hi gear.

  • @ttt8699 Wow. Even with the shift, that's not a speed for every unicyclist around...

Then again, you're not an ordinary unicyclist :-)

  • @Gunner193 Thanks Gunner, I tend to push myself do do things just to see if I can, even though it's usually out of my "comfort zone". Probably a manifestation of my ADHD. That and the fact that I'm still not ready to grow up and act my age, whatever that means, haha. :)

  • @ttt8699 Hahaha! Nah, it's just that you love unicycling and you SHOW it! You do it with your heart.

  • @Gunner193 There's no doubt that I love unicycling! it's funny because when I started almost 6 years ago, I thought I'd lose interest in a few weeks or months at best. But it has snowballed into the most fantastic experience of my life and I love it more each day, and go to bed each night thinking about the next one-wheeled adventure!

  • @ttt8699 Wouldn't the high gear be extremely efficient on your 36in Uni? or would it be insanely hard to pedal? im sure if you used like 140mm cranks or even longer it would work out fine, you could achieve speeds well over 20mph!!!

  • Cool stuff

  • อยากดูเวลาติดให้ 29er กับ 36er ด้วยครับ อยากรู้ว่าจะเร็วแค่ไหน

  • @kingxofxsuede With a geared uni, you are either in 1:1 (standard for all unicycles) but with a Schlumpf geared hub, you....(just watch the video). To adjust speed on any unicycle, you adjust your cadence. Terry does have brakes on his unicycles...but legs are your primary brakes (slow down your cadence). He can ride backwards and idle...not sure about coasting. Check out my video "Giraffe & Glide" or my new video "GoPro Unicycle test"...I'm gliding on my unicycle in those... :)

  • I love the sound your gear switch makes "breeep!" Seriously, you should consider going geared on a 36" but I know your thoughts on that....just sayin' it would be awesome to see you show that off ;)

  • I bet you could do faster with some really slick tires on your uni, I mean...with A slick tire on your uni ;)

keep on rolling Terry, you area doing an amazing job!
