@garethac81 dude, I was learning to play guitar in '74, Dressed to Kill is a dynamite album to learn - not so much armchair, I'd say I'll be more rocking chair material soon, but it still feels so good to drag out the old vinyl and relive some great memories, plug the old Gibson into the 1969 plexi and shake the neighborhood

@garethac81 I've seen them in concert as well, have every album (though the first 6, Creatures, Revenge and Sonic Boom are the only ones amazing all the way through), and I've been a fan for around 19 years. And Sonic Boom is one of them :)

@garethac81 Plenty of less than stellar reviews? I've seen about two and even if that was true, a few 'less than stellar' reviews is far from trashing the album. I never once said it was their best album, but it's in my Top 6 so calm your shiza! :p And maybe MDD will stay and SY also, but that's fine if those are they only ones left. Creatures is one of their best albums and has zero songs in the setlist, and besides Dr. Love...RARO has no songs in there either. So it's all good :)

I own every KISS album, I've seen them live in concert, and I've been a fan for over 15 years. Nothing "armchair" about that. KISS have released many great albums over the years...Sonic Boom is not one of them.

Calling Sonic Boom "perhaps their best album ever" is fucking retarded. The debut album, Hotter Than Hell, Destroyer, Creatures Of The Night, Revenge...THOSE are the best albums KISS ever made. The fact is, there have been plenty of less than stellar reviews of Sonic Boom...and in a couple of years, the songs from that album will disappear from the band's live set, and all the morons who hyped it up when it was first released will go quiet. Wait and see.

@garethac81 Modern Day Delilah voted #11 song out of 100 of the decade in Classic Rock Magazine. Metal Hammer listed the album on thirteenth place on the list Metal Hammer Albums of 2009 list. The album also finished in 2010 as one of Billboard's Top 50 Rock Albums. Spin Magazine said "Not only did Kiss uncork their first new studio album since 1998, they also released perhaps their best album ever." And the 'User Score' on Metacritic is 8.2-- "Universal Acclaim". =D
