  • I have tried this on my friends but it never works. Help!

  • Hypnosis appears quite easy on the surface, but there is more going on than just words and gestures. In order to do hypnosis successfully, you must be able to estabilsh appropriate understanding and expectation in your volunteers, and you must know how to make appropriate adjustments in your inductions for each person you hypnotize.

In order to learn this, I recommend that you study hypnosis thoroughly. You won't succeed merely by imitating a hypnotist if you don't understand the princepals.

  • kc with all do respect i think hypnosis is dangerous becuase some people will be turned in to mental slaves.

  • Hypnosis requires concentration. By being hypnotized, you learn to strengthen your concentration and to use your mind more effectively for things you want to accomplish (self-improvement, personal and professional goals, sports performance, scholastic performance, etcetera). Hypnosis is not mind control. Hypnosis is not brainwashing. It cannot turn a person into a mental slave. Such things exist only on TV and in the movies.

  • I am 13 and have attempted some Rapid induction on my friends and so far it has been quite successful. Can I just ask, is it more important to keep your voice firm and demanding or soothing and relaxing. Different vids say different things... I'm baffled : /

  • Which voice type to use depends on intent and personal style. Stage hypnotists tend toward an authoritive approach. Clinical hypnotists tend toward a quieter approach. However, as long as you use your voice in a natural way that is comfortable for you (not straining your voice), then either approach is acceptable. Actually, the construction of your suggestions and your patter are far more important than the sound of your voice.
