Jonathan Pollard may have been a spy, but the information that was given to israel was information that according to an agreement, Israel deserved to know. In the mid 1980's, Pollard discovered that information vital to Israel's security was being withheld by officials in the U.S. national security. Israel was legally entitled to this information according to an agreement made between Israel. Pollard first reported this security information to his superiors and the response was it didn't matter
