  • Bravo! Well done. Perfect registrations.

  • @organgoesheavy much apreciated, but somehow im not as satisfied with it as I thought, i thought more foundations perhaps, church i practice at now has an antiphonal division which creates a very nice distant tone with mixtures.

  • @16enChamade Thats probably why, I haven't been up in the back of the church in months, haven't noticed any building going on, i usually come in thrue the side entrance, and up into the loft, don't get to see any of the cathedral itself, don't care to. Last I saw there was a choir organ back there and thats about it. However, when this recording was made, if you look at the upload date, it was all Schlicker.

  • @16enChamade Nope, I was there this afternoon practicing, it's still there. They can't afford to rebuild it, heck they cant afford to maintain it half the time, dug around in it today voicing the Bourdon CC and C pipes, which couldnt sound as an octave. Chizzled off a lot of wood, splinters, ouch!

  • @16enChamade by same division i meant that they suck, organs with no soul in them... if you ever get lucky to play on a cavaille coll, or a jw.walker organ, you'll know what I mean. There is no mix up, Bryn Athyn Cathedral in Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania, on 2nd street pike.

  • @16enChamade HAHAHAHA!!! Yeah right, organ sounds disgusting half the time, it's a Schlicker! With a really crappy 3 manual tracker, infact the tracker never feels right, and a barker leaver was way too much for couplers, it makes it so light it's easy to spin out of control. Barker leaver doesnt belong in anything less than 4 manuals, and heavy for start. Allen isnt much to be proud of either, it's in the same division as Moller...

  • @shipsbells Thats the one, it's not a very good organ, Schlicker wasen't a very good organ maker I should say, but hey it's got pipes, multiple manuals, and pedal board, Wanamaker is fun to play!

  • Is this the Schlicker at the Bryn Athyn Cathedral? Bryn Athyn Cathedral is one of my very favorite places on earth. Is the Schlicker there a tracker? Many thanks.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed, thank you for the support too! I did promise didn't I :-)

  • Thank you!!! I think I've played there before, i've tried so many organs in my short life that I'm not even sure anymore, but would be fun to try. Cathedral in the pic is actually really a few minutes away from me, It's the Bryn Athyn in Huntington Valley, PA.
