A nice daysail off of Comox harbour in an "origami"-built steel 36 foot Swain off-shore sailboat.

You can build one of these boats quite easily, using Swain's unique frameless techniques that produces a fantastically fair-looking bare hull in as little as one week of work. I have a 3-hour DVD showing the process of building my own hull. The technique is entirely well suited to amateur construction, is less complicated, and makes all other boatbuilding techniques for this size of boat practically obsolete.

  • How is steel compared to fiberglass/wood on a boat this size? How does she handle with the extra weight? I'm planning on learning to sail and maybe someday build my own boat (on a budget) and steel seems a viable material to work with.

  • This is a good video you have,Sailing sure is fun, catchy tune as well thanks mate :)

  • It's Great Big Sea's, Wave Over Wave. :)

  • Please, what is the name of the song and group or person singing the background music?

    Thank you for your time.
