  • Awesome video! What type of Steadicam did you use? What type of camera? Did you do the full or half? I was thinking of trying this as well. Gonna have to hit the roads (and weights!)

  • I did the half. We used a Canon VIXIA HF S21 HD camera and Steadicam® Merlin Arm & Vest

  • People must have looked at you like you were from Mars! I have a Canon Vixia HFM 300 and was not sure to go with a Glidecam 2000 w/arm and vest or the Merlin setup. Either way I'm assuming they add 10-12 lbs? I was planning on running Boston with it. Were you totally shot when done? My goal would be just to finish with the best possible quality video. Time isn't an issue. Thanks for your feedback

  • Your run time will take a 10-20% hit with the extra weight and you'll have to practice holding it steady for hours on end. Good luck.

  • How does the camera stay so steady while running?

  • I run with a HD camera mounted on a steadicam rig. Lots of practice as a biathlete. Pretty straight-forward in a road race. It is a bit more challenging doring a trail or adventure race. :-)
