Why Not? with Shania Twain intimately documents the amazing journey of the music superstar who, by the age of 21, had survived a childhood of poverty and the loss of both her parents in a devastating accident. She went on to become the best-selling female artist in country music history. Then at the height of superstardom, Twain was blindsided by a double-betrayal shattering her 14-year marriage. Now she opens up about her life-altering heartbreak and how she's moving on. Follow Twain as she begins her climb back to the top through a personal journey filled with risk, revelations and unexpected adventures.

In Why Not?, Twain sets out on a tour of healing, sharing and rediscovering her voice. She returns to her childhood home in Timmins, Northern Ontario with her sister, Carrie Ann, to revisit the memories of their adolescence and their parents shocking death. She then continues on her journey with her bandmates and closest confidants as she steps out of her comfort zone on a cross-country adventure.

Along the way, Twain meets with vocal doctors and coaches, as well as a grief counselor to work through the emotional component of her vocal restrictions. She also meets with people and families who have experienced similar hardships in their lives - including a woman who had an affair with her best friend's husband - and has intimate one-on-one conversations with experts in the music industry like Gladys Knight, Lionel Richie and David Foster, who provide guidance and inspiration as she attempts to reclaim her voice to be able to take the stage again.

shaniahs story is so sad, her voice is a gift. i hope she finds the strenght to sing again.

It`s a little time since i saw this the first time. I remember Shania said she had problems with her singing voice, and i can`t make any sense of that. Well, i think she was very nervous - that`s all, or that`s something huge as well. There can`t be anything wrong with her singing voice when she sings that good here.! Shania does not know how good she is. Shania Twain is fantastic!
