I've always hated this scene. Ip Man starts the movie off by completely destroying over 50 people who are armed with sticks and knives, barely getting hit at all..... Then he fights kung fu masters on top of a table, throwing kicks, punches, elbows etc.... but barely beats one guy who ONLY throws punches AND has gloves on..... That shit really doesn't make sense to me.

@shaolinmantis77 I would agree that it stretches plausibility. I will, however, point out that Twister had advantages going in the form of his gloves and mouth-guard, both of which provide protection for their respective areas. This would leave him more free to focus on attack, whereas Master Yip would have had to 'balance' offense and defense. Having roughly half of Master Yip's arsenal taken away by an illegitimate ruling didn't help, either.

@shaolinmantis77 in a real fight he can do what ever he wants, but in a match with rules and against someone who's not just canon-fodder he can absolutely have some problems. and btw have you ever been hit with a glove? you can still get a serious concussion, you just don't as much damage to your bones.

For the record. Boxing is not a martial art. Also in Ip mans time martial arts where not DO type like Judo but they were Jutsu type like ninjutsu. Difference is that they used their skills to perform IPPONS (single hit kills), In this fight scene all vunerable spots are ignored thus it was made to last. Cause its like playing with your friends elbow punches toughest kid will win.
