Wisconsin's Budget Reform: It's Working!

[Madison, Wisc...] Two of Wisconsin's most recognized supporters of smaller government and individual liberty have teamed up to produce and distribute a multimedia educational effort that explains the need for, and success of, Wisconsin's recent budget reforms.

In the fall of 2011, the Americans for Prosperity Foundation and the MacIver Institute launched It's Working! The effort includes 60 second television commercials that tout the ItsWorkingWisconsin.com website.

ItsWorkingWisconsin.com includes this nine minute educational video that, along with reports from journalists across the state, chronicles the success of Wisconsin Act 10. The project explains the relationship between state and local units of government and the need for this spring's budget reform measures.

"The left has attempted to win the debate over the future direction of the state by yelling the loudest and the longest," said AFPF-Wisconsin State Director Matt Seaholm. "The It's Working project cuts through the noise to present the facts to the people of Wisconsin who deserve to know the truth."

This spring, Wisconsin could have either raised taxes on individuals, families and job providers, or cut spending. As a result of Wisconsin's budget reform, the state has cut the deficit and reduced the strain on local governments by giving them the tools to reduce their labor costs without massive program cuts or layoffs.

"Since day one the MacIver Institute has been committed to providing the facts to Wisconsin taxpayers," said MacIver President Brett Healy. "The facts are that every week there are more examples of how It's Working and we're making sure those facts get delivered over the air and online."

  • @williejenkins666 Lol sorry, didn't mean to offend the internet. I'll do some research.

  • The sad part is people actually believe this BS - Wanker has been an epic fail and our state will be so much once we're rid of him. On to the Recall. First we take back Wisconsin, then the Nation.

  • Ok - so what is the model conservative small government right to work state in your eyes?

  • @williejenkins666 Walker ended various tax credits and write offs - which in turn increased taxes under poor people. Most anti-tax groups have faulted him for raising taxes. So stop calling other people liars and learn what you are talking about

  • @yaririvi I'm not a fan of statistics because they can be easily manipulated and poverty and "right to work" laws doesn't mean they are related to each other.

The worst poverty in the USA is often found in inner cities in very liberal strong-union states and the most rural conservative southern states.

Both of these areas burden state budgets with "welfare" costs.

  • @cinemafreak666 How exactly did "taxes increase for poor people under Walker"?

You like making stuff up, don't you? Because this is a lie. Let me let you in on a little fact: When you lie, people tend to distrust you when you wind up eventually telling the truth.

You want to know whose taxes actually were increased under Scott Walker? Those people who live in school districts that ignored the savings of Act 10 and chose to sell out to the Teacher's Unions of Wisconsin.

A great place to buy shirts showing your support for scott walker! like to get to a top comment so the silent majority can have a constant voice, on a shirt!

  • @williejenkins666

Did you hear that taxes increased for poor people under Walker. Of course you didn't. You shut the fuck up you piece of shit. You aren't worth anything.

  • @cinemafreak666 Did you ever register a car before Doyle increased the fee?

STFU you smarmy pile of shit. You don't know a damn thing of what you speak of.

  • @AntaresInScorpius

No, we can handle the truth and the truth is on our side. You guys have to rely on a propaganda video that lies to you made by Americans for Prosperity which is a pro-Walker anti-union conservative organization that has been known to lie in the past. These lies that they call facts have already been debunked by actual bipartisan economic institutions
